Jim Gentile relied on a .333 average to capture the British Batter of the Month trophy. He had a good September, going 33 for 99.
He finished with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs, scored 20 runs and had a .432 on-base percentage.
So far this season Gentile has gotten 160 hits in 573 at-bats for a .279 batting average with 32 home runs. His stats include 102 RBIs and 100 runs scored. He has played in 157 games.

 | Monday, September 25th, 1922: Surrey Humbles Essex
"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Dazzy Vance said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
The Surrey hurler scored a 3-0 shutout victory over the Eagles, stopping them on 5 hits. He rung up 5 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks in today's performance.
So far this season Vance has a 24-6 record with a 1.48 ERA.

| Tuesday, September 19th, 1922: Sussex Hopeless Against Vance
Dazzy Vance of the Surrey Brown Caps was right on target when he blanked the Sussex Sharks 5-0, yielded 5 hits and totaled 1 walk and 12 strikeouts.
Speaking to SION reporters after the game, Vance said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
