Sunday, April 27th, 1930: Outlaws Blank Northamptonshire, Moore Winner
After his 3-0 shutout win against the Steelbacks, Earl Moore said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Outlaws pitcher put up 8 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 2 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

Saturday, March 15th, 1930: Steelbacks Trammell to Miss 2-3 Weeks
The Northamptonshire Steelbacks were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Alan Trammell was likely to be out for 2-3 weeks after he injured himself colliding with a player at a base in today's game against the Yorkshire Phoenix. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a bruised cheekbone. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Northamptonshire manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Alan is back in action."

Thursday, March 13th, 1930: Steelbacks Second Baseman Hurt
Northamptonshire fans will be disappointed to learn that Cupid Childs developed blurred vision while colliding with a player at a base in today's game. After the doctor informed the Northamptonshire Steelbacks manager that Childs was expected to miss 2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the second baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
