| Breaking News | | Friday, August 17th, 1923: Red-Hot Loucks Scorches Greyhounds What a day for Scott Loucks of the Warwickshire-2nd-IX Bears! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Limavady-2nd-IX pitching apart at Stratford-upon-Avon Ground and sparked the Bears to a 17-1 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Loucks told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
S. Loucks struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off B. Cueto in the 9th.
Presently Loucks is batting .201 with 3 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 127 games and scored 38 times. | | Monday, July 30th, 1923: DL Announces Player of the Week Ken Gerhart of the Limavady-2nd-IX Greyhounds put the finishing touch on an exceptional week of play by being named the Dales Player of the Week.

Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Northamptonshire-2nd-IX manager said, "Harley Dillinger made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Dillinger had 1 strikeout, 5 walks and allowed only 2 hits as the Limavady-2nd-IX Greyhounds whitewashed the Northamptonshire-2nd-IX Steelbacks 4-0.
This season Dillinger has compiled a 2-2 mark with a 4.10 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 53-77, .408 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 25.0 GB | | Record at home | 26-39, .400 PCT | | Record on the road | 27-38, .415 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-9, .357 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 14-17, .452 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 10-18, .357 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 43-59, .422 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-9, .100 PCT | | Record in April | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in May | 11-18, .379 PCT | | Record in June | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record in July | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in August | 5-14, .263 PCT |
