| Breaking News | | Monday, September 17th, 1923: Best DL Pitcher Announced
Ray Roberts had a marvelous 1923 season. This Clontarf-2nd-IX mound mainstay garnered the most votes and has been named the DL Quality Bowler Award honoree.
Roberts converted no saves this year with a 16-1 won-lost record and 2.57 ERA. Overall he appeared in 46 games and struck out 44 in 101.2 innings.
This weekend the SION Baseball Writers Association will present the trophy to Roberts at its annual awards dinner.

 | Monday, August 13th, 1923: Potent Bat Pays Off, Gardella Player of the Week
What a performance by Danny Gardella of the Clontarf-2nd-IX Bulls! The left fielder really tore up Dales pitching and easily claimed the Player of the Week Award.
The 24-year-old hit .320 with 4 home runs and 6 RBIs. For the week he was 8-25 and scored 6 runs.
This year Gardella is batting .319 with 26 home runs and 99 RBIs. In 113 games he has scored 87 times.

| Wednesday, August 1st, 1923: Clontarf-2nd-IX's Gardella DL #1 Batter in July
Danny Gardella of the Clontarf-2nd-IX Bulls spoke softly and carried a big stick in July and was justifiably proclaimed the Dales Batter of the Month.
The Bulls left fielder rapped out a .387 batting average with 41 hits in 106 at-bats, drove in 34, scored 25 runs and chalked up a .464 on-base percentage.
This season-to-date Gardella has 22 home runs and a .316 batting average.
