 | Friday, October 2nd, 1931: STARFFIN Fires Shutout in Northamptonshire Victory
Northamptonshire hurler VICTOR STARFFIN was at his best as he whitewashed the Essex Eagles 2-0 today.
"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said the Essex manager. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."
STARFFIN fired a 2-hitter and totaled 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout performance.
This year STARFFIN has fanned 143 in 252.1 innings and collected a 15-12 record with a 3.07 ERA.
