When Livan Hernandez takes the mound, a Yorkshire-2nd-IX victory is usually the result. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 6-1 mark and a 2.94 ERA in 7 starts, tossed 49 innings, fanned 68 and held opposing batters to a .238 average.
That's why the Phoenix starter was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Lakes.

| Tuesday, April 22nd, 1930: Phoenix Triumph, Whitewash Leicestershire-2nd-IX
Livan Hernandez of the Yorkshire-2nd-IX Phoenix really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 5-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Leicestershire-2nd-IX Foxes with a 2-hit shutout in which he struck out 14 and gave up 1 walk.
His record in 1930 is 4-1 in 5 starts and Hernandez has a 2.13 ERA.

The hottest bat of the week belonged to Yorkshire-2nd-IX left fielder Lee Maye.
He went on a rampage last week against LL hurlers and rapped out 9 hits in 23 at-bats for a .391 average while hitting 1 home run, driving in 7 runs and scoring 4 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Lakes Player of the Week trophy.
Maye was honored today at a press conference.
