| Breaking News |  | Monday, September 4th, 1922: Jim Kelly Out for 6-7 Weeks
The Lurgan Setters will lose the services of right fielder Jim Kelly after he sustained a torn rib cage muscle while making a defensive play in today's game against the Glamorgan Dragons. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Kelly said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 6-7 weeks.
In his stats this season, Kelly has posted a batting average of .304 with 150 hits in 493 at-bats, 2 home runs and 34 RBIs. He has also scored 76 runs, walked 39 times and compiled a .355 OBP.

 | Tuesday, August 15th, 1922: Lurgan's Ryan Down with Injury
"I'm frustrated right now," said Lurgan reliever Ken Ryan. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Setters, that's where he will be spending the next 7 months. Ryan suffered back spasms in today's game against Buckie while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
To this point in the season, Ryan has put up these figures: 2-6 record, 28 relief appearances with 28 innings, 2 saves, 32 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 5.14 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .328 batting average.

 | Sunday, August 6th, 1922: Richie Spins Shutout
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Glamorgan manager after his club suffered a 3-0 shutout at the hands of Lew Richie of the Lurgan Setters. He held the Glamorgan Dragons scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
Richie was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Lew did a whale of a pitching job."
Checking out his stats for the season, Richie has racked up 9 wins and 11 losses in 25 starts, 4.04 ERA and struck out 104 batters in 191.2 innings.
