Tuesday, August 29th, 1922: Somerset Blanked by Greyhounds
Hank Fischer had an impressive outing today. He hurled the Limavady Greyhounds to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Somerset Sabres, yielding 1 hit with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Somerset skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."

In 1922 Fischer has a 11-10 record with a 4.03 ERA in 30 starts.
Monday, August 21st, 1922: Somerset's Hall CL Star of the Week
23-year-old Bill Hall dominated the Somerset headlines during this past week as the rookie third baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Celtic officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.

He cracked 11 hits in 17 at-bats to put up a .647 average. Hall collected 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 8 runs.

In his stats this season, Hall has posted a batting average of .259 with 89 hits in 344 at-bats, 9 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has also scored 40 runs, walked 25 times and compiled a .309 OBP.
Sunday, August 20th, 1922: 5-5 Game for Chapman
It was a parade of hits for Ben Chapman of the Somerset Sabres...one right after another...a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Hampshire Hawks for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Sabres to a 8-4 victory.

"Chapman was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Hawks manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."

B. Chapman singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

This year Chapman is hitting at a .317 pace with 5 home runs and 42 RBIs. He has played in 122 games and scored 72 times.
