Clontarf hurler Dick McBride put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Somerset Sabres with a 3-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 3 hits with no strikeouts and 2 walks to pick up the win.
The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."

 | Monday, April 7th, 1930: Sabres and Lightning Agree to Swap
Officials for the Somerset Sabres confirmed that they have traded 27-year old second baseman Davey Johnson and $14,600 in cash to the Lancashire Lightning. In return, the Sabres will receive 33-year old shortstop Ernie Johnson and $22,700 in cash.
In 665 career games Johnson has hit .238 with 406 hits, 44 home runs, 195 RBIs and scored 205 runs.
Johnson has a career .264 batting average with a .318 OBP. He has hit 21 homers, driven in 597 runs and scored 626 runs since he came into the league.

 | Friday, March 28th, 1930: Sabres and Hawks Agree to Deal
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Somerset Sabres sent 26-year old starting pitcher Allan Anderson to the Hampshire Hawks for a 2nd round draft pick and $1,100 in cash.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
Anderson has a lifetime record of 27 wins and 27 losses and a 3.66 ERA.
