| Breaking News | | Wednesday, April 30th, 1930: Hampshire Shuts Out Limavady "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Hawks manager told reporters after today's game.
The Greyhounds ran into a buzzsaw as Dave Wright cut them down to size 6-0 with a 4-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the Hampshire hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 7 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Dave goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Wright also got some praise from the Limavady manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
This season Wright has 3 wins and 1 loss and a 2.57 ERA. | | Sunday, April 27th, 1930: Dragons Win, Shut Out Greyhounds Lefty Tyler of the Glamorgan Dragons was lights out in a 4-hit whitewash of the Limavady Greyhounds.
He told SION reporters, "I had my good stuff and it went where I wanted it to go."
