"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Leicestershire manager after watching Henry Keupper of the Worcestershire Royals humiliate his club 4-0 in a fine 4-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Keupper said after he befuddled the Foxes. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 3 and walked 3 in the complete game effort.
This season Keupper has worked 43.2 innings with 23 strikeouts en route to a 5-1 record and a 2.68 ERA. |

Whenever Foxes third baseman Jimmy Collins stepped into the batter's box last month, the 25-year-old meant business. With his .300 average he virtually ran away with the British Rookie of the Month Award.
He collected 21 hits in April with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

Today the Phoenix downed the Foxes 10-2 as Rube Bressler sprayed hits all over Headingley Carnegie in a 5-hit explosion, finishing up with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Yorkshire first baseman said to SION reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
R. Bressler singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Bressler is hitting .439 this season with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 18 hits in 41 at-bats.
