Tom McGuire put a hex on Pembroke in a sparkling 2-0 shutout performance, mesmerizing them on a 3-hit gem.
"I feel good physically," he said. "Everything's comfortable. You should pitch well when that's the case."
It was anything but comfortable for Pembroke.
"McGuire used his changeup very well, very effectively," the opposing manager said. "He threw it in hitter's counts."
The Durham Dynamos hurler fanned 7 and walked 5.
In the 1922 season McGuire has recorded a 3-1 mark. In 5 starts he has fanned 29 batters in 57.2 innings with a 3.90 ERA.

Red-hot Raul Ibanez of the Pembroke Red Foxes went on a rampage against Celtic pitching and claimed the Rookie of the Month award for August.
He batted .324 and collected 36 hits, 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 16 runs.
In his 1922 season totals, Ibanez has 16 home runs, .286 BA, .349 OBP, 74 RBIs and 66 runs scored.

"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Pembroke manager after watching Lee Meadows of the Hampshire Hawks humiliate his club 2-0 in a fine 3-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Meadows said after he befuddled the Red Foxes. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 3 and walked 0 in the complete game effort.
Meadows has posted a 14-7 record in 1922 with a 3.24 ERA. Teams are hitting .223 against him and he has rung up 94 strikeouts in 169.1 innings.
