| Breaking News | | Saturday, September 9th, 1922: Devlin Cracks 5 Hits Durham first baseman Jim Devlin really lit up the Glamorgan Dragons with a 5-hit barrage today at Riverside Stadium -- a performance that sparked the Dynamos to a 10-1 triumph.

Jim O'Rourke of Glamorgan apparently doesn't as he battered Gloucestershire with a 6-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 5-4 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 6 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
J. O'Rourke singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off J. Fassero in the 10th.

To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 5 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Vaughan had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Hawks had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
A. Vaughan hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off P. Toth in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
In 1922 Vaughan has hit at a .330 clip with 138 hits, 7 home runs, 60 RBIs and has scored 65 times. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 80-82, .494 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 31.0 GB | | Record at home | 39-42, .481 PCT | | Record on the road | 41-40, .506 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 11-12, .478 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 32-23, .582 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 17-25, .405 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 63-57, .525 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in May | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in June | 15-12, .556 PCT | | Record in July | 10-16, .385 PCT | | Record in August | 12-15, .444 PCT | | Record in September | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in October | 0-1, .000 PCT |
