 | Thursday, November 4th, 1926: Phoenix Swap Mayberry to Sabres for Bochte A trade between the Yorkshire Phoenix and the Somerset Sabres was made official this morning. The Yorkshire Phoenix have sent 25-year old first baseman John Mayberry and $26,900 in cash to the Somerset Sabres in exchange for 29-year old first baseman Bruce Bochte and $4,800 in cash. His all-time numbers show Mayberry has compiled a .271 batting average and collected 960 hits, 197 home runs and 633 RBIs. Bochte has a lifetime .259 average with 895 hits, 163 doubles, 15 triples, 66 home runs and 411 RBIs to date. |
