Monday, September 2nd, 1929: Super Week for Northamptonshire's Smith!
A hot-hitting week got Elmer Smith the British Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.

The Northamptonshire right fielder slammed them for a .500 average, 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 4 runs.

In the postgame press conference, Smith shared his hitting philosophy with the SION scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them...nothin' more than that."

In 1929 Smith is batting .297 with 6 home runs.
