Home Nations Baseball Association News Article | |  | Friday, August 30th, 1929: PARAGO Tosses Shutout for Warwickshire "GEORGE PARAGO is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Warwickshire hurler tossed a complete game 2-hit shutout against the Essex Eagles.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said PARAGO. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."
PARAGO walked 2 and struck out 2 in the 8-0 victory.
On his 1929 stats sheet PARAGO shows a 10-11 record, 26 starts, 210.2 innings, 86 strikeouts and a 3.55 ERA. | |
