Wednesday, August 21st, 1929: Hampshire Bats Silenced by Mays
Carl Mays shut 'em down and shut 'em out, hurling Pembroke past Hampshire 3-0 in a complete game victory.

He told SION sportswriters in the postgame interview, "This is a game of adjustments and I made some good ones in this game."

Mays held the Hampshire Hawks without a run, tossing a 4-hitter while walking 0 and fanning 1.

Mays has posted a 14-5 record in 1929 with a 3.06 ERA. Teams are hitting .276 against him and he has rung up 85 strikeouts in 208.2 innings.
