 | Tuesday, May 30th, 1922: Mike Cantwell Out for 7-8 Months After the end of today's game between Derbyshire and Sussex, Mike Cantwell skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the Phantoms had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The starting pitcher will miss at least 7-8 months with a torn labrum. In 1922 Cantwell has logged 6 wins and 6 losses and struck out 92 batters in 80.2 innings while compiling a 3.24 ERA. |
