The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Somerset Sabres sent $9,000 in cash to the Warwickshire Bears for a 3rd round draft pick.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

The Warwickshire Bears have finalized a deal with the Leicestershire Foxes for the services of 25-year old center fielder Brian McRae. In exchange, the Foxes will receive a 4th round draft pick.
McRae is hitting .229 this season with 3 home runs, 29 RBIs and 66 runs scored. He has 144 hits in 629 at-bats.

Watching Billy North getting helped off the field today at Edgbaston, fans of the Warwickshire Bears feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the center fielder will miss 1-2 weeks with a dislocated finger. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. North suffered the injury making a defensive play in the game against the Crusaders.
So far this season North has gotten 118 hits in 482 at-bats for a .245 batting average with 6 home runs. His stats include 59 RBIs and 72 runs scored. He has played in 144 games.
