 | Thursday, November 29th, 1923: Clontarf Trades Kopp to Derbyshire for Wright The Clontarf Bulls have finalized a deal with the Derbyshire Phantoms for the services of 27-year old minor league reliever Jim Wright and $1,100 in cash. In exchange, the Phantoms will receive 26-year old left fielder Merlin Kopp and $1,000 in cash.
Kopp is hitting .221 lifetime with 366 hits, 59 doubles, 16 triples, 2 home runs and 140 RBIs to date. He has scored 243 runs, walked 294 times and has a .341 OBP.
|  | Saturday, November 24th, 1923: Off-Field Injury Strikes Win Mercer Lightning officials have acknowledged that starting pitcher Win Mercer will be out for 1-2 weeks with a damaged meniscus. The injury occurred while playing catch with his son.
In his career, Mercer has crafted a 54-55 mark with a 3.31 ERA and tossed 1048.2 innings. Players with expiring contracts began to file as the clock struck midnight, and general managers were already making the rounds. With the opening of free agency came a predictable chorus of speculation from the media.
While most teams are likely to make at least some small moves, it's still uncertain who the movers and shakers will be. Reporters expect a lot of attention to be lavished on the cream of the free agent crop, including these players:
